MSC SCONA 71
MSC SCONA hosts an annual collegiate conference that connects delegates from universities across the nation and the world. Each year, MSC SCONA discusses a different topic of national importance, giving delegates the chance to interact with the nation’s highest academic scholars, government officials, and well-known public figures. Delegates also participate in the debate through facilitated roundtables culminating in a policy paper competition. But, MSC SCONA is much more than a conference. For more than 70 years, MSC SCONA has brought students together, not just to discuss the important issues of our time, but also to form meaningful relationships with other students and future national leaders along the way. MSC SCONA is more than a conference; it is an experience of a lifetime.

MSC SCONA presents “Instruments of Power: American Influence on the Global Stage” at the MSC on February 10-14, 2026
With President Trump’s re-election, the longstanding custodianship of the rules-based international order led by the United States has been called into question. Amidst this reassessment of American foreign priorities, how the U.S. should implement its diplomatic, informational, military, and economic powers must be reconsidered. MSC SCONA 71 will focus on how America should implement its instruments of power in a new world order. With each instrument of power rich with opportunities of implementation, delegates will engage in valuable discussions and debates about the complexities of influence over national and international audiences.
